Jesse Adkins (left) has been transplanted to the 'Burgh from the "Joisey"
shore and even spent some time in Texas (though he does not have that Texas
drawl we know so well up here!) He is a senior at Mt. Lebanon High
School and loves computers, ferrets, cars, chics and bleaching his hair
(you should see it...pretty red these days, but growing back in!) Jesse
had his first ham BarBQ this week (9/95) .. thought they were pretty
good. We had to tell him that chipped ham was "invented" in Pittsburgh
and marketed through Isalys (which no longer is around!)
Vince Mareino (right) claims he is tall, dark, and handsome. Well, he isn't
quite tall yet! Vince is a sophomore at Mt. Lebanon High School, an
award winning member of the academic games team (best in the nation in
his division last year!) and admits to having a weird sense of humor!
Believe it or not, Vince like parentheses--ya know those symbols like (((
and )))! The teachers in the computer lab in the high school just love
Vince, because he keeps changing the windows (on the computer) desktops
into works of art! Actually, the teachers got so irked with him, they
gave him a "computer of his own" to change around and now everyone is happy!
Mike Turian (second from right) is a MAGIC (the card game) fanatic. He
lives, it, breathes it and sleeps it! Other interests include fantasy
football, bowling, and skiing. Mike is a member of the academic games
team at Mt. Lebanon as well. This year he is taking AP Computer science
after mastering C programming last year.
Eric Salesky (second from left) is a tall red-head with blue eyes! A
talented musician, Eric plays three instruments:
the baritone, the trombone and the trumpet!
(I wonder if he can play 'em all at the same time???). Eric just spent part
of last summer traveling with a group of students from Mt. Lebanon High
School to Germany, Switzerland, and France. (I wonder if he met Heidi and
Peter and Heidi's grandfather!?) Eric has already taken BC calculus at
the high school level and is looking forward to taking topics beyond
calculus. Needless to say, Eric is somewhat talented in mathematics!
Eric loves snow skiing, water skiing, golf and basketball. He loves to
watch football and stock car racing. Favorite athletes.....you bet!
They include Mark Martin (NASCAR) and Mario Lemieux (whom we are lucky to
have on the Pittsburgh Pens Hockey team!). Eric is a big Penn State Fan
(GO LIONS!!!) Recently, Eric was part of a winning team of Mt. Lebanon
High School students that won first place in a regional Calc-U-Solve
contest.
