Dr. Douglas Landsittel

Assistant Professor of Statistics

Dr. Landsittel's research interests are primarily focused on classification of cancer status and other disease outcomes using modern regression methods such as neural networks and classification trees. More specifically, he is interested in problems of model complexity, model selection strategies, and data reduction or multiple comparisons, especially for the case of high dimensional data. He has previously worked at the University of Pittsburgh as the Associate Director for Biostatistics at the Cancer Institute and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, which is part of CDC.

In addition, he enjoys the martial arts (possessing a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do), marathon running, and playing with his six young kids.
